Penberthy Type Ejectors

Penberthy Ejector

This standard type of ejector is suitable for many duties, such as filling and emptying tanks, raising and transferring liquids, and priming centrifugal pumps. It will elevate liquids 1ft per each 1 ¼ lbs. to 1 ½ lbs. of steam and operates at optimum efficiency with a Steam Pressure below 100 lbs. psi.

When ordering Ejectors, specify the size number. If ordering by size, specify suction and delivery sizes, not steam connections.

These Ejectors are supplied in Gunmetal only and are without socket ends.

Steam Operated ejectors are suitable for a wide range of liquid transfer operations, including the transfer of liquids with solids in suspension, also for liquid heating, circulating, agitating and mixing of fluids in various processing operations.

The ejector is suitable for lifts up to 20 feet, but is recommended for lifts of 10 feet or less and will handle water up to 160°F. with gravity flow to suction and discharge head of less than 6 feet.

The table below gives capabilities of all sizes of ejectors when evacuating closed vessels to a given final vacuum.  Capabilities show are at the most efficient operating pressures for the ejectors.

If pressure exceeds 60 psi, supply valve should be throttled to suit.

Values given are based on the evacuation of air or non-condensable gasses from closed systems and give the size of system in cubic feet which can be evacuated to a given vacuum in one minute.
